STUDENT DESKS
As our schools closed due to the pandemic and required our students to learn from home, many were faced with inadequate space to work or focus, often sharing dining tables with sibling students, working parents, and meal times, if they were lucky.
Others spread out on beds and floors. Those in shelters were often
confined to rooms without space or tables at all.
These environments made it difficult to work and focus,
to learn and keep up with those who had supportive environments,
often with their own rooms and desks already in place.
Learning of this need, CDF jumped in and began making desks to put into family shelters and foster homes. In some cases, special desks were made to accommodate students with special needs.
Several dozen desks have been produced and distributed within our community.
